Remizov designed the hotel in collaboration with a German design and engineering firm and Moscow-based scientist Lev Britvin as part of the Architecture and Mitigation Project sponsored by the International Federation of Architects. The hotel, dubbed "The Ark," looks more like a boat sitting upside down on the water, a new design that challenges traditional land-based hotel life.
